Send me something.
A job to rate, a resource for the library, a correction, consulting work, or nothing in particular. It's just one form, so all you need to do is pick a reason so it lands in the right pile and you can see what I'll do with it.
I'm one person with a day job. I read everything that comes through here and I answer most of it, eventually.
What happens to it
It gets played, and the rating sticks.
I can't promise every listing turns up in an issue — but I'll do my best to get it rated and onto the job board, and it'll probably end up in a Bad Job Bingo issue too.
When it does get rated, the rating sticks: Green Means Go through Seriously, Maybe Don't, with the red flags named out loud. There's no way to buy a good rating and no way to buy your way off the board.
Send it anonymously if you'd rather — the name field is optional. I'll only ever credit you if you tell me I can; otherwise it just says Reader-submitted.
Want to rate it yourself instead? Bad Job Bingo is one of the four free tools in the Career Suite — play the card privately and nothing gets submitted anywhere.

It goes into a Directory.
Resources generally get a plain description, usually taken from the source. I don't rank anything in the library, and I don't review anything either, so being listed isn't an endorsement and being left out isn't a criticism. I reserve the right to add or not add resources at my sole discretion.
I'm usually pretty quick about getting new things added, but sometimes it can take a while. What I can't do is give you a status update on a suggestion — that's a lot of extra work for one person.
Suggest something you made or manage — genuinely, please do! If your own copy describes it better than I can, I'll use it and say so; vendor submissions get a disclaimer so readers know where the resource came from.
What happens to it
It might end up in an issue.
There's a good chance I care about the same things you care about, so you should send me stuff so we can care about them together. (Read: snark and snipe about them.)
What you send me could end up an item in the Read / Watch / Listen section of the Roundup, as a footnote in, well, Footnotes, or even as a Deep Dive.
I can't promise everything I get will be used, though. Some weeks the news picks itself, and everything else waits.
What happens to it
It gets fixed.
Although I try to be as accurate and thorough as I can, mistakes will happen. It's important to me to get things right, so please let me know if I've gotten something wrong.
Depending on what needs to be corrected (and how severe my mistake was), I may just edit it and move on or publish a full correction. If the error is substantive and in the newsletter, I'll edit the issue post with a timestamp and then note the correction in the next one. If it's a major error in a job listing or resource, I'll correct it and note the change on the page.
If I got something wrong about you or your company, this is the fastest way to reach me, and it goes to the top of the pile.
What happens next
This one I answer quickly.
My Services page lists the kind of work I take and how I bill, so you can work out whether I'm a fit before either of us spends a call on it.
I'm also available for speaking — podcasts, conferences, workshops — though I'm picky about what I say yes to. Asking is the quickest way to find out whether yours is a fit.
What happens to it
I read it. That is the whole thing.
Sometimes you just need someone to listen, to vent to, or to go on a Wikipedia spiral with. Of course, you can also just say hi or tell me what you think of the newsletter or the site.
Your encouragement is cherished and re-read on bad days. Flames keep my spiteful heart warm.
(I answer most of it, eventually.)
Thanks — that reached me.
That didn't send. Email me directly at steph@supporthuman.cx and I'll sort it.
Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom of it. Feel free to unsubscribe anytime; you'll never get an email asking why, and you won't lose access to anything — it's all on the site regardless.
Manage your account →The email is one list, so there's no per-series unsubscribe. But every series has its own RSS feed — take one and skip the rest.
